The people over at the IM seem to have lost it

I like Yahoo!'s instant messenger. I like it so much that I wouldn't say anything bad about it, even if particularly asked about it; after all, we've spent so many happy years together, not going into the sunlight until I was as white as neon and then going mobile with it.

It's just that the latest things that they are trying to throw in our faces are too much to take, I think that they are really taking us all as a group and me, as an individual user, for fools. How is it possible to say that you have updated something that, in fact, didn't change at all? The Voice option of the Yahoo! IM is now said to include a complete call history. It was already doing that! I'm really trying to keep it down with the caps-lock key, because screaming won't do anybody any good. What's the use of a call history that starts its recording today, when all the calls that interest me have been recorded in the previous months? And if only it weren't true, but I still have all my call history within reach and I haven't touched the Voice option ever since the alleged update.

What else is "new"? hmm, they say that call history includes the date and time when the call was made? ok, it did that before, the phone number, location, duration of the call, price per minute and total charges. They have all been there before, so what's so new about them?

If this doesn't turn into one of the pieces of news that are just thrown out there by the dev team, because they are actually working on something big and don't have the time for anything else (such as updates) or if it is a secret, it is really going to be all downhill from now on for the world's second most used instant messaging application. I just hope this won't be the case.
