The Sunnyvale giant Yahoo signed a deal with CA, a provider of several security utilities that can make the Yahoo Toolbar product more safe to use against all kinds of Internet threats. The new browser add-on will bring several utilities to all the consumers such as desktop search, email alerts, instant access to Yahoo's and CA's products as well as security functions provided by CA. It seems like the two firms plan to implement Antispy and Security Advisor into the toolbar, two products that would bring a more secure browsing experience for the Yahoo fans.

"Online security remains a prevalent issue because of online threats, yet many Internet users are still unsure what products they need to protect themselves from spyware and malware," said Joff Redfern, senior director of Product Management, Yahoo! Search Distribution. "It's important to provide our users with the best, most accessible tools to safeguard their online experience and enable them to search the web with peace of mind. We look forward to continue working with CA to deliver quality, reliable anti-spyware protection as part of the Yahoo! Toolbar."

Until now, Yahoo Toolbar also offered several security features such as a pop-up blocker that stopped unwanted browser windows. However, this is a useful partnership for both companies as the giant portal Yahoo receives brand new security features while CA improves its image by teaming up with one of the most known names on the Internet.

"We are very excited about our forthcoming home/home office product line, which launches in September," said George Kafkarkou, senior vice president of Home/Small Office for CA. "The CA/Yahoo! Toolbar will complement our new products and provide our customers with an enhanced online experience. We also look forward to continuing to provide Yahoo! Toolbar customers with strong anti-spyware protection to help ensure a safer online experience."
