Yahoo upgraded its mobile search technology and made it available in numerous countries, increasing the total number to 14. Besides the US and the United Kingdom, the first nations that received Yahoo's oneSearch, the users from India, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and others are now able to access the giant portal's solution. oneSearch was released some time ago and was meant to represent the first powerful mobile search technology, Yahoo trying to respond to all the mobile products created by the rival Google. At this time, the Mountain View company has multiple mobile services such as Gmail or Search.

Using the new oneSearch mobile service, the users from the countries mentioned above can access most of the Yahoo products such as News, Finance, Weather, Flickr or Image Search. Basically, all the solutions can be accessed through a compatible mobile device from these countries.

"And, for UK and Canada users, local search results are a part of the oneSearch experience. Accessing all of this information is easy for folks across a number of geographic locations. Folks in the UK, for example, can now look for curry in the West End, while travelers in India can find the temperature in Jaipur. Quick news headlines in Singapore are also just a click away," Paul Yiu, Yahoo Search, sustained on the official blog of the company.

The battle for the mobile technologies is quite important for numerous companies because both Yahoo and Google are struggling to expand their products into this area. For example, the Mountain View company released new flavors of its products to make them accessible from mobile devices such as Google News and Gmail. The mail solution is often accessed from handheld devices, because the search giant presented Gmail as the perfect mobile email service just after the product became available for free.
