Rumors about a potential Yahoo acquisition of Actionality are quickly spreading on the Internet, but the representatives of the two companies couldn't be contacted to deny or confirm the transactions. The folks from Mobile Entertainment report that the Sunnyvale giant bought Actionality as the company's latest move to expand its offering into the mobile market and attract more consumers. It seems that the transaction was started one month ago but the two firms preferred to keep it private. As you can see, this is another Yahoo step into the mobile market as the giant portal struggles to become the top provider of a mobile search paltform.

"Actionality has been a pioneer in the rising field of ad-funded mobile content. It works closely with brands and operators and specialises in 'injecting' games with ads at the point of download. The company secured seed financing from Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures in 2006," Mobile Entertainment wrote.

At this time, the two Internet giants, also the owners of the best search platforms on the web, struggle to expand their products into the mobile market. As you might know, the Mountain View company Google provides mobile access to numerous products such as Calendar, Gmail and even the well known Google Search allowing the users connected to the Internet through a handheld device to use them with ease.

Meanwhile, Yahoo is the owner of OneSearch, a very useful search platform that can be accessed from any mobile device connected to the Internet. Yahoo's technology uses the power of the Yahoo search engine and tries to provide all the results straight on the mobile devices owned by almost every one of us. As you can see, Yahoo wants even more and tries new moves that can support the company's efforts into the mobile market.
