The Oscars are almost here and fans and movie buffs alike are all placing their bets on who's going to win what. Everyone has their favorites, but Yahoo has data and the data doesn't lie.

Based on searches done in the first weeks of the year, up to February 5, Yahoo has compiled a list of favorites to the various awards.

War Horse is a sure win for Best Picture, Yahoo reckons, it got the most searches during that period, 80 percent more than runner-up The Artist and 17 times more than The Tree of Life the least searched for nominee.

In the Actor in a Leading Role category, Brad Pitt's role in Moneyball seems to have gotten him a lot of interest. George Clooney comes in second in the category, followed by French actor Jean Dujardin for his role in The Artist.

As for Actress in a Leading Role, it seems that young actress Rooney Mara is fan favorite, her role in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo certainly gained her a lot of attention. However, the competition is strong in the category.

Yahoo didn't stop here, it scoured its search data and pitted the nominees for supporting roles against each other as well.

In the Actor in a Supporting Role category, Johan Hill leads for his role in Moneyball alongside Brad Pitt, followed by Christopher Plummer, Kenneth Branagh, Nick Nolte and Max von Sydow in that order.

Melissa McCarthy leads in the Actress in a Supporting role category, followed by Octavia Spencer. Finally, Woody Allen is by far the most searched for Director that's been nominated for an Academy Award this year.

All of this is based on search data from Yahoo. The big disclaimer is that search volume is not an incredibly reliable way of predicting the winners. It does however show what people are interested in.
