oneSearch offering Yahoo Answers links

Nobody confirmed it but this surely looks like Yahoo's universal search. Moreover, it seems to be Yahoo's reply to Google's universal search technology released earlier this year and which was supposed to allow the consumers to get all the information through a single SERP without using several search engines. Today, the Sunnyvale super giant Yahoo announced the implementation of Yahoo Answers into its mobile search technology oneSearch, allowing the handheld owners to get several types of results on the same screen. This is pretty important for a mobile user because they don't have the same maneuverability as the desktop computer consumers. According to Lawrence Kim from Yahoo! Search, Yahoo Answers is now available through oneSearch in many countries including Argentina, UK, US, Spain or Thailand.

In addition to the Yahoo Answers implementation, the mobile search platform is now providing Wikipedia articles straight into the results which makes it easier for the mobile users to find information.

In case you're wondering what's making this update so special, let me explain it to you. First of all, let's suppose you want to search for 'what is softpedia' using oneSearch. After you type this query into the search box, the Yahoo technology analyzes it and, among the usual weblinks, it also provides you answers published by human consumers which sometimes might represent a more relevant answer than a computer-powered information. The Wikipedia support is also pretty useful since the web-based encyclopedia is one of the most important sources of information on the Internet.

"Starting today, when you use oneSearch to conduct queries for advice or reference topics, the search results you'll receive will include relevant answers from other Yahoo! Answers users all over the world, as well as the usual news headlines, images, business listings, etc," the Yahoo official proudly announced today.
