Messenger for Mac 3.0 Beta 2 was released today and you can get it straight from Softpedia. As we expected, this new testing version of Yahoo Messenger comes with lots of goodies for the Apple fans such as chat rooms and the possibility to save all the conversations through the message archiving functions. In addition, the instant messaging client provides support for tabbed windows, enabling you to communicate with several contacts at the same time with only one opened window. Also, this new beta includes more emoticons, just like the Windows version of Yahoo Messenger.
The best thing about it is that Yahoo Messenger for Mac 3.0 Beta 2 bundles webcam support and file transfer capabilities so now you can send and receive files with other users of the instant messaging client. Also, it has an eye-candy interface that perfectly fits into your Mac OS X solution, an operating system which is famous for its attractive appearance.
Now, the bad thing. It only works with Mac OS X 10.4 or later so if you have an earlier version of the operating system, you're not able to use the application.
Obviously, everybody is now waiting for the Vista flavor of Yahoo Messenger which was announced a long time ago and is expected to come with revolutionary functions compatible with the latest version of the Microsoft operating system.
