Yahoo announced that its instant messaging client will be affected by some instability issues today because the company is working on a chat room upgrade. The Sunnyvale giant said the problems might occur today approximately 2-5pm PST. "Once the upgrade is complete, you should find that the room lobby counts are more accurate and that the voice spammers you may have encountered at the launch of Captcha are no longer prevalent. In addition, we're also introducing some changes to make Captcha more friendly for the visually impaired," Sarah Bacon, Product Manager announced today on the official blog of the company.

At this time, Yahoo is working on the new version of Yahoo Messenger for Mac, the parent company aiming to fix all the bugs and the glitches reported by the users. "And thanks to everyone for your feedback on the new Yahoo! Messenger for Mac 3.0 Beta 2. The team is already plugging away on the next release to address some of the bugs and to add improvements to areas like the chat rooms," the Yahoo official added.

A few days ago, the Sunnyvale super giant rolled out the new version of Yahoo Messenger for Mac, a special flavor of the instant messaging client which is supposed to bring the famous communication features on the Apple systems.

As you might have heard, Yahoo also implemented a new security system for the chat rooms which is supposed to reduce the amount of spammers disturbing the users. The entire protection is based on a CAPTCHA because before you can start chatting, you're required to enter the security code displayed in an image.
