Yahoo debuted a new design for its almost anonymous video service, the giant portal aiming to make it more challenging for other similar services. As you can see if you visit the product's website, the design is cleaner than before, offering some attractive thumbnails of the first page clips. On the right part of the screen, the giant portal introduced the video categories as well as the most popular videos. You're now able to upload a clip using a huge button displayed at the top of the page and also search for videos using the search technology provided by Yahoo.

"We've been hard at work behind the scenes to bring you a fresher, cleaner, Yahoo! Video experience. We've got new modules on the right featuring our best channels and our most popular content - the content you're watching, saving, tagging, and uploading. And our top module now has buttons down the side to highlight great clips from different categories, channels, the latest uploads (aka 'New') and special content such as the MTV Movie Awards Spoofs and the Tribeca Film Festival," Laura, Yahoo Video Team sustained today.

Although the company improved Yahoo Video, the service is quite anonymous, being easily bested by famous solutions such as Google Video and YouTube. However, this anonymity is somehow useful for the company because it avoids potential copyright problems encountered by its rival Google.

In the recent period, Google won the first page of the newspapers with its online video sharing service, YouTube, which is also the most popular product in its category. Now, there is only one question: is Yahoo able to challenge the search giant Google with its recently updated video service?
