The Sunnyvale employees are funny, too...

Since yesterday we all celebrated April Fool's Day, the folks at Yahoo have also tried to do some pranks to their users, no matter if we're talking about Yahoo Mail or other product developed by the Sunnyvale company. Although we're all expecting the implementation of POP3 support, Ryan K., Community Manager at Yahoo Mail, announced a new function which will be introduced in the mail service very soon: telepathy. Obviously, it's just an April Fool's Day prank but since the rivals at Google announced the release of Custom Time for Gmail, their joke is really enjoyable.

"You may have already heard some of the buzz around technologically enabled telepathy (also known as 'technopathy') and we feel that we are perfectly positioned to really deliver on that vision. To help lead these efforts we recently brought in Matt Parkman (formerly of the LAPD and NYPD) to be our new VP of Totally Wireless Mail," Ryan K. wrote in an announcement on the official Yahoo Mail blog.

In case you don't know who Matt Parkman is, he is a fictional character of the famous TV series Heroes produced by NBC. The character had the possibility to read people's minds so a potential job at Yahoo Mail would be great for the new telepathy function.

"We also understand that many of you are already worried about the various spam problems this might create. While I can't give too many specifics at this point, we have an offer out to someone to be our Director of Cranial Spam Reduction," the Yahoo official added.

So, still no POP3 support for the freeware version of Yahoo Mail. Although 2008's April Fool's Day is only history now, I would prefer a prank that would trick me that the Sunnyvale company has introduced POP3 functions in its mail service. That would be some sort of funny...
