Yahoo plans a major update for its recently acquired MyBlogLog service, the company aiming to introduce even a change of brand. It seems that MyBlogLog's name will be changed soon but it's not quite clear if the giant portal wants to rename the product as YahooBlogLog or even MyYahooLog. In a post published by David Dalka, the blogger cites Robyn Tippins, MyBlogLog community manager, who sustained at the SOBcon conference in Chicago that the blog service will receive major improvements soon. Besides the rename plans, Yahoo also wants to create a complete and impressive redesign of the page that will surely make the service more attractive for the Internet users.

As you might know, MyBlogLog currently allows site owners to view the latest members who accessed the page by viewing their pictures. It seems that Yahoo prepares a new function that will allow visitors to hide their identity and remain anonymous.

Meanwhile, most of the users are demanding an improved functionality of the service, since this was periodically slowed down or even increased the loading times of the pages that contained MyBlogLog widget. Take the example of TechCrunch, a company that introduced the widget but encountered several problems with the loading page time. "Like many blogs, we had the MyBlogLog widget on TechCrunch for months. We eventually removed it due to performance issues (it slowed down the site on a couple of occasions) and this incredible amount of spam that started to appear," TechCrunch said.

In the recent period, Yahoo was quite active on the software market because it closed no more than two products powered by the company, Photos and Auctions, and is now preparing an impressive update for the blog product.
