Yahoo introduced a new service for all the Japanese people to allow them to publish news articles, being developed on the same structure as the well-known Digg. If you didn't know, Digg is a community website that allows all the members to post articles and news and enables them to vote or rate the most popular ones. Since its release date, Digg is continuously attracting users, tending to become a powerful source of information. That's why Yahoo decided to design a similar service, created especially to allow Japan's residents post and vote latest news.

This new service is entitled "Minna no Topics" which means "Everyone's topics" and is currently available for free using a simple account. The interface of the product is very similar with Digg's and is based on the same structure as the well-known service.

As you know, Google already owns a powerful news service but using this latest release, the company tries to increase their presence on the Asian market, an attempt that was often denied by other powerful companies in the region. Take the example of Baidu, a company that remained the leader of the Chinese market even after the two Internet giants Google and Yahoo tried to release several regional products.

In the past, the news service owned by Yahoo caused numerous headaches for the company after the giant portal was sued by multiple Belgian newspapers for using their information without authorization. The search giant Google was also sued by the same publications for the same reason, the court ordering the company to remove all the headlines provided by the newspapers. Although Yahoo was sued by the Belgian firm, the company keeps improving the news services with this new product announced today.
