Yahoo tried to reply to Google's recent moves with a similar update and added some new personalization options to its Travel service. Most of them are meant to offer specific travel deals or guide, depending on the users' searches and options. Just like the Google services that are based on personalization settings, Yahoo Travel will return several suggestions for certain searches. The giant portal also improved the interoperability between Travel and other solutions developed by the company such as Yahoo Messenger. The instant messenger client is now containing an updated plugin that collects data from Travel and displays it straight into the chat client's window.

"We want to fundamentally transform the way people plan and research their trips and our Trip Recommendations are designed to inspire people with new ideas of where to go, and the best price for getting there. By tapping into the collective intelligence of other like-minded travelers, there is a greater ability to plan and take truly memorable trips, no matter how near or far you want to go," Jasper Malcolmson, director of Yahoo! Travel said according to Tech2.com.

As you can see if you visit the official page of the service, the product is improved with several features including an interactive map that provides instant access to multiple trip locations. The Yahoo Trip Planner is also a new function implemented to the service that will require you to follow a simple wizard to customize your trip. After you customize your destination, the service requires you to choose the date and the other important details, allowing you to schedule the event just like a stand-alone calendar. The trip will be then included on the first page and accessible with a single click.
