If you're asking yourself what's up with the title, let me explain it to you. First of all, the Sunnyvale company prepares the release of Yahoo Teachers, a new technology that will strive to help the teachers from all around the world to prepare class material and share the information with other professors. But what if some of the students decide to register for the service in order to get the private information of their teachers? Well, that should be a new way of exam cheating... Anyway, I'm sure that Yahoo is preparing an attractive technology because it aims to bring an alternative for the classic copy and paste into a Word file method used by so many teachers.

As ScrippNews reports, the product will be released in this autumn so it will be available quite soon. However, it seems like Yahoo started the beta testings in 2006 when it invited several teachers to test the product but it avoided to make it publicly available. The official page of the technology is already available but it only allows a sneak peek into the upcoming product. "The easy-to-use site and peer network designed by and for teachers. Get ready to create, modify and share standards-based curriculum," the official page reads.

"To save material found on the Web, teachers can use what is called a gobbler, a feature that allows them to drag and drop text or images into an online portfolio rather than having to cut and paste the material. The gobbler may be expanded to other Yahoo products, according to a comment posted by Bradley Horowitz, a Yahoo vice president, on the blog of another Yahoo manager," ScrippsNews reports.

As you know, more and more companies are interested in joining the battle for the educational industry but until now, only a few of them proved to be powerful enough to face the competition. With the upcoming release, Yahoo makes an important step for its evolution as numerous teachers will be attracted by an exclusive product.
