Sony Ericsson's latest mini series is now available for pre-order in the UK, with price tags starting at free on monthly contract agreements.

Both Xperia mini and mini pro, the successors of last year's X10 mini and X10 mini pro, can be reserved today from BuyMobilePhones.

The two handsets were unveiled to the world back in May, with a series of specifications that remind of the company's high-end smartphones and with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on board.

[admark=1]At the aforementioned retailer, the Xperia mini is available for free on monthly plans that start at £15 per month. With contracts that start at £15.32 per month, you can get the Xperia mini pro for free.

The offering includes plans at carriers such as Orange or T-Mobile, as well as O2, or Vodafone, but these are more expensive options.

Those who would like to reserve an Xperia mini device should head over to BuyMobilePhones' website here, while those interested in the Xperia mini pro should head here (via).

The two smartphones come to the market with similar specifications, except for the inclusion of a sliding QWERTY keyboard on the pro model.

Both of them sport 512MB RAM and a fast 1GHz Snapdragon processor (QSD8255), which should go along very well with the Gingerbread OS.

On the front, both Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro sport a 3-inch HVGA (480×320) scratch-resistant capacitive touchscreen display, while packing a 5 MP auto focus camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities on the back.

HSPA, Wi-Fi with DLNA capabilities were included with both of them as well, along with a 3.5 mm headset jack, Bluetooth, or built-in GPS receiver.

Also, both mini handsets come with the ‘Facebook inside Xperia’ software, integrating the Android experience with the social networking site. Moreover, they would also offer support for various applications available via the Android Market, as well as for services from Google.
