Canal+ and Sony Ericsson have just announced that Xperia arc and Neo will be available with a pre-loaded Canal+ application that will offer users free access to TV programs

Both smartphones are expected to be available in France in mid-April, but no other details have been disclosed yet.

It seems that the new deal is part of a larger promotional offer that allows Sony Ericsson Xperia smartphones users to enjoy watching Canal+ and CANALSAT programs on their mobiles, free for three months.

Customers will be able to watch Canal +, Canal + Cinema, Canal + Sport, Canal + Family, as well as other TV channels included with the satellite package.

Another Sony Ericsson smartphone, the Xperia Play, is expected to be launched sooner than the arc and Neo, but for unknown reasons this one won't be part of the deal.

Currently, the Canal+ app for Android is available as a free download from the Android Market, but it is unclear if both Xperia arc and Neo will be bundled with the same application. It is compatible with devices running Android 2.2 or later and requires access to 3G or Wi-Fi connectivity.

Sony Ericsson Xperia arc was introduced during the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and further showcased at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The sleek device has a thickness of only 8.7 mm and weighs about 117g (battery included). It comes with an astonishing 4.2-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 854 pixels resolution, which is based on the manufacturer's Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology.

Dubbed as the company's Android flagship smartphone, the phone is powered by a single 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread mobile platform with Timescape UI.

Xperia Neo features a slightly smaller 3.7-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 854 pixels resolution, which is based on the same Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology.
