The smartphone is available today via Sony's Store (online and retail locations)

Xperia Z, the latest flagship Android-based smartphone from the Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile, is set to make an official appearance on shelves at T-Mobile on July 17, the wireless carrier has officially confirmed on Wednesday.

The device will be released with a price tag of $99.99 (€76.6) attached to it, with the signing of a two-year agreement with the carrier, and with 24 equal monthly device payments of $20.

T-Mobile plans on making the phone available through all of its retail locations around the United States, as well as online, on its website.

Furthermore, the company has announced that the handset will be put up for pre-order on July 16 through its online store, and that it will be accompanied by a free Sony Wireless Bluetooth Speaker gift.

However, users should also know that the Xperia Z is already available for purchase in the country through Sony’s 38 U.S. Store locations, including the flagship store in New York, as well via Sony’s online portal, also with the aforementioned free Sony speaker as a gift with the purchase.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Sony Xperia Z smartphone was launched with a large 5-inch full HD touchscreen display, as well as with a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor packed inside.

The device also features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the phone sports a 13-megapixel photo snapper with f/2.5 aperture and full HD video recording capabilities, complemented by a front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The handset’s specs list also includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, 4G LTE capabilities, NFC, xLOUD Experience, GPS receiver, a battery that can deliver up to 11 hours of talk time, and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.
