Japanese-Swedish joint-venture Sony Ericsson unveiled to the world late last year its first mobile phone powered by Google's Android operating system, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, and it seems that the device is already available for pre-order, being set to land on the market as soon as next week in Indonesia. Wireless carrier Indosat already lists the device on its website, and it seems that it will soon become the first in the world to launch it, as soon as March 3 is here.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has been already announced to arrive at various wireless operators around the world, including Rogers in Canada, docomo in Japan, or Vodafone in Europe, yet Indosat is the carrier that will have it available first in the end. The carrier already has a nice lineup of Android-based devices available for its users, and the Xperia X10 will join them on March 3-7 during the Indosat Android Expo. The phone arrives with Android 1.6 on board, but it will be upgraded to a newer flavor in the following months.

The specs of X10 listed on Indosat's website include: - High-speed processor powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 Ghz: faster operation speed; - 4” full touch screen: the widest view you will ever experience; - 8GB MicroSD external memory & 1 GB internal memory: High capacity to store all media; - 8.1 MP camera: with Auto Focus, photolight, face recognition, geo-tagging, and smile detection; - 1500mAh battery power: Longer life battery power to support you throughout the day.

The device also comes with two applications from Sony Ericsson, Timescape and Mediascape, as well as with an Infinite Button, which is meant to enhance its capabilities even more. The pre-order price tag for the handset has been set at Rp 6.500.000 (about US$695), while the normal price for the device is of Rp 7.000.000 (around US$750). The mobile phone will also come with Google Mobile Service on board, as well as with access to the Android Market, which is said to be coupled with access to the carrier's own Indosat Application Store.
