The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, aka the PlayStation Phone, has just received some more concrete details, including the games it will have pre-installed when it is launched in the UK.

Many gamers eagerly awaited a so-called PlayStation Phone, which would combine the gaming nature of a PlayStation Portable device with the functionality of a phone.

This combination was finally revealed earlier this year by Sony Ericsson, Sony's mobile division, in the form of the Xperia Play.

The device is now getting ready to be released at the end of the month, and has just received some more details about its games and features.

The Xperia Play will arrive with six pre-installed games, which, at least in the UK, are Bruce Lee Dragon Warriors, Tetris, Star Battalion, Crash Bandicoot, FIFA 10 and The Sims 3.

In other areas like North America or Asia, expect some games to be swapped out with others that are more popular in those territories.

New Xperia Play owners will be able to get 50 other games through Sony's new PlayStation Suite service, which are a mix of PSone classics and current smartphone games optimized for the unique setup of the mobile phone.

Besides this, the Xperia Play, having the newest version of the Android mobile operating system, also has access to the wide array of games released on the Android market, which rely only on touchscreen gestures to be controlled.

More games will certainly appear, but Sony is currently holding off until it sees the first sales figures for the new mobile phone.

The Xperia Play will be launched on March 31, in the UK, and Sony Ericsson Marketing Director David Hilton confirmed that it's going to receive the biggest marketing campaign it has ever had in the European country, largely because every major carrier will sell it.
