Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson and EA Mobile have just announced the signing of a limited time exclusive agreement aimed at bringing the EA SPORTS FIFA 12 for Android on the Xperia PLAY.

The owners of the first PlayStation certified smartphone in the world will be able to enjoy the new title from the leading mobile games publisher during the holiday season, the duo announced.

The new mobile game was optimized for the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY smartphone, and will be released world-wide in time for holidays.

FIFA 12 on Xperia PLAY will be able to provide users with improved gameplay depth and authentic commentaries, as well as with updated teams from top leagues around the world, and with an all new replay system.

With this game, users will benefit from the ultimate football experience for Android, Sony Ericsson notes.

Xperia PLAY will deliver a great experience for users, due to its dedicated graphical processing unit, which is complemented by optimized memory bandwidth and 60fps rendering on its 4.0-inch touchscreen display.

At the same time, the football gameplay experience is enhanced courtesy of better audio quality, with improved commentary and crowd chants.

“FIFA 12 will undoubtedly be one of this year’s most popular games and Xperia PLAY consumers will be able to master it before any other Android users,” said, Dominic Neil-Dwyer, Head of Market Development for Sony Ericsson.

“Adding to a portfolio of quality games for Xperia PLAY, FIFA 12 adapts perfectly to the device and delivers the best football experience on Android.”

The two companies also announced that the exclusive agreement they signed will end as soon as February 21, 2012.

EA Mobile already offers a great deal of games on smartphones running under various platforms out there, and seems set to make sure that even more users can take advantage of what it has to offer.
