Xigmatek appears to have taken a break from releasing computer cases and has, instead, decided to pay some attention to its other fairly large business venture, that of coolers, by unveiling the Aegir SD128264, a high-performance solution with support for both AMD and Intel central processing units.

The Xigmatek Aegir SD128264 stands apart from its peers and competitors by virtue of its D.L.H.D.T. structure, short for Double Layer with Heat-pipe Direct Touch.

The product is described by its maker as a “World Exclusive Technology Cooler” and has both high-level performance as well as a unique dual-fan cooling design that enables a higher intake volume and optimum airflow, among other things.

The newcomer measures, in total, 130 (W) x 66.4 (D) x 159 (H) mm. This size is achieved because of the 120mm long life bearing fan whose rotary speed is of 1000 to 2200 RPM (rotations per minute) and whose sound output is of 20 dBA.

The heatsink receives the heat from the CPU through two 8mm copper heatpipes and four 6mm heatpipes, and then dissipates it evenly across the many fins, leaving it to the aforementioned spinner to disperse whatever is left of it.

Xigmatek made a point of ensuring that the newcomer has as wide a CPU support as possible, which is why it made it compatible with not just Intel LGA 775, LGA 1156 and LGA 1366 sockets, but also AM2, AM2+ and AM3 central processing units from Advanced Micro Devices.

Finally, the cooler is outfitted with anti-vibration rubbers, a mounting system with a spring-Screw and consolidate back plate and a dual fan installed option.

Unfortunately, the hardware maker did not deign to unveil any sort of information on pricing and availability, even though it has already set up the elaborate product page of this latest creation.
