14 DAY TRIAL // We told you that Xiaomi might be coming to CES 2015 with the intention to unleash its next-gen flagship device upon the world.
But yesterday one of the company’s officials already confirmed that Xiaomi wouldn’t participate at CES 2015 in January. However, they are planning to release their next big thing during the same month, with January 15 being the rumored date.
Xiaomi Mi5 leaks again, this time in black
Not so long ago, we saw what looked like an image of a purported Mi5 handset leak online, showcasing its large form factor, a bezelless design and a white paint job.
Now, a few days later, what seems to be the black version of the upcoming Mi5 has made an appearance online as well. The display continues to impress us with its large size, but we’re not currently sure if it can be classified as a 5.5-incher, a 5.7-incher or even as much as a 6-incher.
Nevertheless, the display seems awfully larger than the Xiaomi’s Mi4 5-inch model. Like its white counterpart, the black model also sports extremely thin bezels.
The photo was dug up by Gizmo China from China’s Weibo social media website and seems to be the real deal, although it’s not really in high-resolution or anything.
At this point it is becoming increasingly clear that Xiaomi will be launching the Mi5 in a few days after CES 2015 takes place Las Vegas.

What else we should be expecting from the smartphone? Well, the handset will probably offer QHD resolution (2560 x 1440), a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor fitted with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 430 GPU.
The device should also step forth equipped with a 20.7MP rear-facing camera. Previous rumors also claimed Xiaomi intends to roll out a special limited edition model that takes advantage of a sapphire screen.
This version will probably be made available in select models towards the end of the year. But first things first, let’s keep an eye on Xiaomi and see what happens on January 15.
