Xiaomi Mi3’s third sale in India ended even faster than the second, which was confirmed to have ended after just 5 seconds since going live.

According to the company’s VP Hugo Barra, this time, Flipkart sold the 15k units available in stock in just 2 seconds. That’s incredible considering that it takes a lot more time to put the phone in the cart and head over to check out.

However, if we take into consideration the number of customers who registered their interested for the Xiaomi Mi3 (150k), the fact that 15k units were sold in just 2 seconds is not all that impressive.

Even if only half of the customers who confirmed they would be willing to purchase the Mi3 if given the chance logged in at 2PM today to reserve their smartphone, the fact that the Xiaomi Mi3 sold out in just 2 seconds is still not an impressive achievement.

Still, at the moment, the Mi3 has become one of the few things that money can’t buy in India. Considering that 150k customers wanted to purchase the phone and Xiaomi decided to put on sale only 15k units, it’s obvious that there will be a lot of disappointment among Android fans who weren’t able to reserve their Mi3 devices.

For the time being, it’s unclear whether or not Xiaomi will launch a fourth Mi3 sale in India via Flipkart, but if it does, it would be great if the Chinese company supplemented the number of units in stock.

The Mi3 is one of Xiaomi’s previous flagship smartphones that have been recently launched in India exclusively through Flipkart for only Rs 13,999 ($230 / €170) outright.

The smartphone comes equipped with a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

Customers in India can only purchase the 16GB model, which is rather important considering that the Mi3 lacks a microSD card slot for memory expansion. Xiaomi also launched a 64GB version of the smartphone, but the handset hasn’t been introduced in India and it will probably never be out for sale in this country.

Xiaomi Mi3 also sports a large 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

On the back, the handset packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, dual-LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls.

We will keep an eye out for any additional details on Xiaomi Mi3’s fourth sale in India, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
