As expected, Chinese handset maker Xiaomi has just entered the Indian market with its flagship smartphone, the Mi3. Although the handset is not available for purchase yet, Xiaomi confirmed the Mi3 will go on sale in India beginning July 15.

According to Xiaomi India, potential customers will be able to grab the Mi3 for just Rs 14,999 ($250 / €185) outright, which is an exceptional deal considering the smartphone’s specs sheet.

Unfortunately, aside from the fact that it will go on sale on July 15 for the price mentioned earlier, Xiaomi did not share any other details regarding the location(s) where customers would be able to pick this one up.

However, previous rumors pointed to a Xiaomi/Flipkart partnership for the release of the Mi3, so those interested in acquiring the flagship smartphone should expect it to be available through this online retailer.

Obviously, you should take this information with a grain of salt until Xiaomi comes forward with an official statement, but since most of these rumors emerging in India are accurate we expect there’s a high chance that Flipkart will exclusively offer the Mi3 in India.

Moving on to specs, the Xiaomi Mi3 is one of the most popular Android smartphones in China and that’s not necessarily because of its high-end hardware configuration.

The fact that such a high-end smartphone is priced so low puts the Xiaomi Mi3 among the most desired Android handset in most of the countries where it’s available.

The only downside for India customers who wish to purchase the Mi3 is the fact that it does not come with dual-SIM support and it lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion.

These are mandatory features for smartphone users in India, so the Xiaomi Mi3 might not be so popular among Indian customers, but let’s not assume anything before the device goes on sale.

Xiaomi Mi3 is equipped with a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

The Chinese company launched two versions of Xiaomi M3, each with different amounts of storage: 16GB and 64GB. It’s unclear whether or not both models will be released in India next week.

Furthermore, the Mi3 sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) video recording and 441ppi (pixels per inch).

It also boasts a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, image stabilization and full HD (1080p) video recording. A secondary 2-megapixel camera is included as well.
