Today, Chinese mobile phone maker Xiaomi has officially announced the availability of its Mi3 flagship device in India, confirming that sales of the handset will kick off there on July 22.

The smartphone will be available for purchase in the country via Flipkart, and users can already pre-order it at the retailer.

Moreover, the company has revealed that Xiaomi Mi3 will sport a price tag of Rs. 13,999 ($234/€171) attached to it when put up for sale, which makes it a very appealing device, as fonearena notes.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Mi3 arrives on shelves with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution at a 441 PPI pixel density. The screen also features one-glass solution (OGS) ultra-sensitive touch and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

The Xiaomi Mi3 is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM 8974AB) processor, which has been paired with 2GB of RAM, so as to ensure high-level performance for its users. The flagship device also includes 16GB of internal memory.

On the back, the new mobile phone sports a 13-megapixel camera with a Sony Exmor BSI sensor, dual LED Flash, and f/2.2 aperture. The phone is capable of recording videos in 1080p full HD resolution.

At the same time, we should note that the handset was launched with a 2MP front camera that also features a BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p full HD video capabilities.

Connectivity-wise, the Mi3 includes support for 3G networks, along with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC capabilities. Additionally, it was made official with a built-in GPS receiver for navigation purposes.

Xiaomi Mi3 measures 114 x 72 x 8.1mm and weighs 145 grams. The mobile phone is powered by a 3050mAh battery.

Moreover, we should note that the handset runs under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, but that it also features Xiaomi’s own MIUI V5 user interface loaded on top of it.

As mentioned above, the smartphone is already available for pre-order in India via Flipkart, and those of you interested in reserving it for when it is put up for sale next week should head over to the retailer’s website for that.

The handset will be available exclusively through this company. What should be mentioned here, however, is the fact that the phone sports a lower price tag when compared to what Xiaomi announced for it last week.
