Chinese handset maker Xiaomi is one the most important brands in the Mainland that deliver top of the line Android smartphones. Its latest handset, the MI3 is said to be “the fastest smartphone ever.”

Xiaomi is a company that aims to undercut more important brands such as Samsung, HTC, LG and Apple on the Chinese market, but its latest smartphone would give competition a hard time in other regions as well.

First of all, Xiaomi MI3 will be available for purchase at all major carriers in the country, including China Unicom, Chine Telecom and China Mobile.

According to the company, the 16GB version of Xiaomi MI3 will be available for purchase for just 2,000 yuan outright, which is about $325 or €250. Customers will be able to buy the 64GB model as well, but they will have to come up with 2,500 yuan ($410/€310) upfront.

Hardware-wise, Xiaomi is an ugly beast. It comes equipped with either Nvidia Tegra 4 chipset for the China Mobile model or Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 for the other two versions available from China Telecom and China Unicom.

The Nvidia Tegra 4 variant packs a quad-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz and 72-core GeForce graphics processing unit, while Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset comes with 2.3 GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.

The smartphone boasts a stunning 5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, which is manufactured by LG Mobile and packs OGS single glass full fitting technology.

The MI3’s amazing display features 441ppi (pixel density) and allows users to control the touchscreen when their fingers are wet or while wearing gloves.

There’s also a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back that integrates intelligent beauty corrector and can identify age and gender. The main camera features autofocus, LED flash, F2/2 diaphragm, 28mm wide angle, full HD (1080p) video recording and is supplied by Sony.

Design-wise, Xiaomi MI3 strongly resembles Nokia’s N9 smartphone. It measures 144 x 72 x 8.1mm and weighs 145g (battery included).

Last but not least, the high-end smartphone packs 2GB of RAM, 16GB/64GB of internal memory and 3050 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
