The team in charge of the Xbox One at Microsoft is announcing that the entire 2014 National Football League draft can be watched using the home console by those users who have a subscription to the Xbox Live Gold service.

The event takes place from May 8 to May 10 and it is important because it determines where the young talents associated with American football will play during the coming season.

Microsoft is using an entirely new channel and content associated with the NFL Draft to deliver an experience that no other media source can currently replicate, which can appeal to long term-fans and to those outside the United States who have no other source for a live video feed.

The official Xbox Wire announcement explains that, “The snappable Draft Tracker is what makes the experience really cool and unique. Whether you're watching the draft live, watching a movie with the family on Netflix, or sneaking in a few quarters of Madden 25, the Draft Tracker will keep you updated on each team's pick.”

The app delivers fast updates and allows gamers to always stay connected to the 2014 NFL Draft.

David Jurenka, the executive producer of Sports at Xbox, adds, “The control we give to fans is what makes our system unique. If your team drafts Johnny Manziel and you want to see some clips of him, you can just jump in and do that. We’re taking what has traditionally been a passive TV experience and making it interactive and personalized.”

The special Xbox One app also introduces recaps and highlights for all those who miss the live action and after the Draft is over, the team will continue to add information and details about teams and players as the new NFL season nears.

Ever since the next-gen console was first announced, Microsoft has claimed that it will use it to deliver enhanced sport-based experiences for fans, which cannot be matched by any other type of media.

The Xbox One 2014 NFL Draft app is just the beginning and the Xbox One will aim to be one of the main ways to watch American football in the coming years.

Microsoft has also promised that special origin programming, including live action series and documentaries, will be delivered to the console starting with June.

More big announcements about sequel, new titles and Halo will be offered at E3 2014 during the company’s press conference.
