Serviceman injured in Iraq plays 360

Now, this is not a reason to laugh and be amused but some are playing Xbox 360 games using only one hand. As I can see on Kotaku, an Xbox 360 specialist- Ben Heckendorn hacked an Xbox 360 controller and adapted it for single-hand play.

This modified controller was not designed for some guy so lazy that he avoids using both his hands to play games, but for one disabled man, who became handicapped after serving in Iraq. First, Ben bought an Xbox 360 controller, which according to him, is one the best controllers out there. He diced and sliced it until he managed to open it.

After opening it, he had to rearrange everything inside of it, every wire, every cable, everything. He admits that this task was a little bit tricky but he managed. He manually reattached all the buttons to the controller's circuit board and then designed around that. The X Y B A triggers as well as the right bumper have been rewired with tact switches to the middle for actuation by the middle and ring fingers. The only things that remained in the same place are the left analog trigger and left bumper.

I must admit, the controller doesn't look spectacular and fancy, but at least, it works. Ben Heckendorn likes it so much that he is considering entering mass production. I guess he will need some serious funding but, maybe if Microsoft takes a look at his device, they will consider giving disabled people a chance to game. If we take into account that Bill Gates is quite the humanitarian, this is not that impossible.
