FIFA 14, the EA Sports created football simulation, is back in the number one position of the United Kingdom video game chart and the launch of the Xbox One is the major catalyst for the move.

Data from UKIE shows that the title has seen an increase of 328% in its overall sales, which is impressive given that the initial PC and current-gen release took place in late September of this year.

The next-gen console version of FIFA 14 is powered by the new Ignite engine, which is designed to deliver more realistic movement and facial animations for players on the pitch and improved atmosphere in the stadiums.

The Xbox One has also been a good platform for other titles on the United Kingdom market, which has seen an overall improvement in sales.

Call of Duty: Ghosts has failed to keep its top position for another week and has slipped down to second place, with its biggest rival, Battlefield 4, staging a solid comeback from fifth place in order to reach the last position on the podium.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, created and published by Ubisoft, is stuck to fourth place this week and an Xbox One excusive launch title, Forza Motorsport 5 from Turn 10, is in fifth, but with limited chances of keeping the position in the long term.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes has dropped rather quickly from second place during the previous week to sixth and Dead Rising 3, another Xbox One-only experience, this time from Capcom, is in seventh.

Grand Theft Auto V, from Rockstar and Take Two, continues to perform well as the two companies are delivering more content for the Online mode.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is in ninth place and Ryse: Son of Rome, the last of a trio of launch games for the new Microsoft device, closes down the UK top ten.
