Microsoft has revealed the launching date of the new Xbox360 gaming console: November 22, in the United States. The Europeans will be able to enjoy the new console on December 2, while the Japanese are the last on the list, the console coming to Japan on December 10.

With these launching dates, Microsoft hopes to obtain a decisive advantage over the competition, Sony's Play Station 3, the Japanese console being scheduled for next year's spring.

As it announced at Games Convention 2005, Microsoft will launch Xbox 360 in two versions: one with several accessories, priced at $400, and a "core" version, without HDD and wireless controller, which will be $100 cheaper.

Xbox 360 will be accompanied by numerous games, Microsoft's strategy aiming at attracting as many producers as possible. Microsoft hopes that by the end of the year, 40 titles will be ready.

Microsoft's officials didn't reveal the number of consoles ready to be shipped, but since the launching will take place during the winter holydays, it's obvious that we are talking about millions. It remains to be seen if Microsoft will have enough units to meet all the orders.

In Japan, the price for the Xbox 360 console will be 37.900 yens, or $350.
