No clear date announced

Microsoft re-launched its X series of events related to the Xbox 360 home gaming platform in San Francisco and made some pretty interesting announcements as part of it. And the biggest of them is that the company is partnering up with Infinity Ward and with Activision Blizzard in order to deliver an exclusive piece of downloadable content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 during spring. The software giant refused to deliver a clear date, which suggests that work is still ongoing on the DLC and that the three parties involved will give more details in a few months.

Microsoft seems to have a long term strategy of securing and delivering exclusive DLC for high profile cross platform releases, like GTA IV and Modern Warfare 2.

The spring bound pack will probably consist of new maps for the multiplayer component, which is the most enduring element of the experience as time goes by, and maybe even a fresh game mode.

Those who have picked up Modern Warfare 2 on the PlayStation 3 or on the PC will probably also be getting the content after a few months, as is the case for The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, which were also initially exclusive to the Xbox 360 and are now going cross platform.

The Redmond-based company has also confirmed that they will be releasing an Xbox 360 bundle linked with Final Fantasy XIII that will offer an Elite console alongside a 250 GB hard drive, two controllers and the game itself for the price of 399 dollars.

Apparently, Microsoft has the exclusive rights to do a bundle on the Western market, which means that the PlayStation 3 bundle, which is decorated with images from the game, will remain available only in Japan. A lot of people will probably be attracted to the bundle for the big hard drive until now only offered as part of a similar package including Modern Warfare 2.
