Complete with rumored data transfer cable

Long before the Elite was even properly dated, retailers got their mitts on the machine's 120GB HDD. Over at HardOCP there are actual photos of the product, complete with data transfer cable, coming from reader and recent owner of the elusive black storage drive, Kyle Dobbins, who acquired it at Wal-Mart. The pictures you see below are real, so don't be skeptical about it. It's been known for weeks that the Elite's HDD would come with a transfer cable. Heck, even the cable was rumored for crying out loud.

Retailers are surely not breaking any street rules here, by selling the drive before the Elite. If you remember, the Elite's 120 gig HDD was and still is surrounded by big buts, when it comes to transferring data onto it. Microsoft says:

- You cannot put the data from two or more 20GB hard disks onto one 120GB hard disk. If you attempt - to move multiple drives, only the last one you move will be stored. - You can only move data from the 20GB Hard Disk to the 120GB Hard Disk. Transferring data in the other direction, or any other combination, is not possible. - Any data stored on the 120 GB hard disk will be automatically deleted. - Any data stored on the 20GB hard disk will be automatically deleted after it is moved over. Once you move the data over, it cannot be placed back on the original hard disk.

So naturally, gamers had to get their chance of moving older Xbox 360 HDD content onto the Elite's, before Gamestop's trade-in offer expires (which is two days before the Elite launches). So if you need the extra disc space, go get your own, just don't accidentally delete your Lost Planet saves.
