According to Sony Ericsson's UK online store

Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson announced about two weeks ago the official launch of its first handset powered by Google's Android operating system, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, but it hasn't delivered an exact release date for the device. However, the company's UK online store already lists an expected availability window for the X10, which is February 2010.

We already knew that the first Sony Ericsson Android device is set to become available for purchase in the first quarter of the next year and now things are almost official. In case the handset vendor will manage to deliver the phone to the market in the expected time frame, enthusiasts will have a great phone to enjoy, that's for sure.

The specs list of Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 shows a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked in at 1 GHz, a 4.0-inch display with touchscreen capabilities, 480 x 854 pixel (WVGA) resolution and support for 262,144 colors, and a 8.1-megapixel photo snapper that sports face recognition, smile detection, auto focus, and video recording capabilities.

Here's what the Sony Ericsson UK online store says about the phone: “With a remarkable 8 megapixel camera, fitted with Smile detection, Touch focus and Send to web, the XPERIA X10 breaks boundaries by being the first android phone to feature an 8 mega pixel camera. The X10 also features a variety of social media applications such as Mediascape and Timescape, allowing you to manage all of your communications in one place, browse conversations, check out your tweets on Twitter or photos, emails and texts.”
