XOLO is on a roll, as the Indian OEM released on mid-range Android smartphone earlier this week and now quietly released two more handsets, which are already available for purchase, the Q600s and Q1200.

The Q600s is an affordable smartphone meant to compete with Motorola’s Moto E smartphone that has just been released in India earlier this month.

In order to be able to compete with such a device, XOLO decided to put Android 4.4 KitKat operating system on the Q600s, which is unusual for such a low priced smartphone.

Two days ago the company launched the XOLO A500s Lite, an entry-level smartphone, which, as expected, is powered by an older Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

Luckily, XOLO was wiser this time and added the latest version of Android onto its mid-range smartphone in order to boost the Q600s’ appeal to customers.

Obviously, in order for a mid-range smartphone to be popular among customers in India, software is not everything, so let’s see what XOLO Q600s packs under the hood.

Well, first of all, the Q600s is powered by a more than decent 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

Keep in mind that only around 1GB will be available for installing apps and games, so you will definitely need to add a microSD card, which is possible thanks to the addition of a dedicated card slot.

Furthermore, XOLO Q600s sports a large 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.

The smartphone offers dual-SIM capability, but there’s no surprise here, as most Android smartphones launched in India offer this feature, otherwise they’re doomed to be forgotten.

The Q600s features a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back with LED flash, BSI, autofocus and video recording, as well as a secondary VGA camera in the front for video calls and selfies.

Last but not least, XOLO’s mid-range Android smartphone offers a wide range of connectivity options, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS support and microUSB.

The smartphone is powered by a decent 2,000 mAh battery which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer and packs FM Radio feature.

XOLO has yet to officially introduced the Q600s, but those who wish to purchase it before the official announcement can do so via Snapdeal for only Rs 7,499 outright, which is about $125 or €95.
