Indian OEM Xolo has just announced the upcoming availability of its latest smartphone in the QCORE series, the Q1000 Opus. The device is already available for pre-order via major online retailers and is expected to go on sale on December 16.

As fonearena points out, potential customers can pre-purchase the XOLO Q1000 Opus via Flipkart and Infibeam for only Rs 9,999 off contract, which is about $165 or €120.

Those unfamiliar with XOLO’s lineup of smartphones should know that the Q1000 Opus was officially introduced in India last month, but it did not receive a clear launch date at that time.

Well, it looks like starting today, XOLO fans will be able to pre-order the Q1000 Opus in white color (the only option available) from any of the authorized resellers that offer the handset.

XOLO Q1000 Opus ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, which isn’t that bad considering its low price.

In addition, the smartphone offers dual-SIM (GSM / GSM) capability with Dual Standby, as well as a high-capacity 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery that has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

On the back, the Q1000 Opus sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, BSI sensor, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording. There’s also a secondary VGA camera in the front for video calls.

XOLO’s mid-range Android smartphone comes equipped with a decent 1.2 GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 processor, which is complemented by a VideoCore IV graphics processing unit clocked at 312MHz.

It also packs 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

One of the main selling points of the Q1000 Opus may be the 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 854 x 480 pixels resolution. Other highlights of the phone include: 3G HSPA+ (21Mbps), FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0.
