Rolls out four new models

Following the formal announcement of AMD's latest entry-level Radeon graphics card, the Cedar-codenamed Radeon HD 5450, a number of the outfit's partners announced their implementation of the new GPU, introducing new cards on the market. Such is the case with XFX, a company that decided, a while back, it's time to broaden its horizons and become a graphics board partner of both NVIDIA and AMD. The outfit has recently revealed that it’s expanding its product line with four new cards based on the new GPU from AMD.

Following names like MSI, HIS and Sapphire, XFX will soon be ready to provide its customers with support for Microsoft's DirectX 11 and AMD's ATI Eyefinity technology with cards that will be available for around 50 Euros. According to available details, four new models, based on said graphics processor, will be available from XFX, all of which will boast a low-profile form factor. These cards should make for an noteworthy choice for HTPC fans, looking to take advantage of the latest hardware on the market.

As far as technical specifications go, these cards are pretty standard, with 80 Stream processors, 64-bit memory interface and an option for 512MB DDR2 clocked at 800MHz or 1GB of DDR3 working at 1600MHz. Pretty much everything that AMD announced with their reference design, but with the added value of XFX own board design. Featuring a black PCB, the connectivity options on these cards include D-Sub/DVI/HDMI, D-Sub/DVI/DisplayPort or DVI/HDMI, depending on model. The cards should also provide a choice for an active or passive cooling solution.

As far as pricing goes, you should be able to pick yours for about 40 to 56 Euros, according tcmagazine. Thanks to their low-profile form factors and the features of the Cedar GPU, these cards should enable users to upgrade to the latest hardware, within an affordable price range.
