As every week goes by, one developer or another provides a demo for their upcoming game up on Microsoft's Xbox Live service. Sometimes, PS3 owners get lucky too, but not always. This week however, on Thursday, both Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network are getting KOEI's playable demo of Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War.

The demo is of course free of charge and will be available for download two days from now, featuring legendary characters such as Joan of Arc and Prince Edward - later to be called the Black Prince.

The official report also confirms that the game uses a brand new engine, "attainable only through the power of next-generation hardware," as the game's armies will collide on the battlefield at an unprecedented scale. There will be countless numbers of soldiers clashing on screen in ferocious battles, "where tactics and cunning will combine with valor and might to determine who is left standing when the dust settles on one of history's most epic conflicts", as the report goes on.

Here's the game's official description, as provided by KOEI themselves: In the early half of the 14th century a quarrel over English succession to the French throne escalated into what history would come to know as the Hundred Years' War. In 2007, KOEI's upcoming video game, BLADESTORM: THE HUNDRED YEARS' WAR will bring to life the intensity and drama of a war-torn Medieval Europe featuring a rich tapestry of legendary characters including Joan of Arc and Prince Edward- later to be called the Black Prince.

Now remember, KOEI's Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War is set for release as a playable demo for Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PS3, through their own Internet services, XBLM and PSN, respectively. The demo will be available for grabs starting Thursday this week, while the full game is due out on November 2nd.
