The new, ultrathin laptop from MSI hasn't received a price tag or a launch date yet, but the official specifications have already made it on the official site. The laptop focuses, as all ultrathin laptops must, on power efficiency, but still packs quite a few performance capabilities in its slim, black frame, which measures 39.2cm x 25.5cm x 2.5cm. In order to ensure a low power consumptions and, consequently, a so-dubbed “super-long” battery life, the laptop is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, which, even despite its focus on low energy use, provides excellent multitasking capabilities.

While the very long battery life is provided by the CPU, which runs on the Intel GS45 + ICH9M-SFF chipset and is combined with the Eco Engine power-saving technology, the laptop is capable of displaying on its 15.6-inch LCD screen a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. These graphics capabilities are provided by the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics card, which has 512 MB of VRAM.

The laptop uses a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio and features hard drive storage capabilities of 250, 320, 500 or 640GB. Memory capabilities allow for up to 4GB of DDR2. The product is built with the MSI chiclet keyboard, which reduces typing errors and increases comfort.

This latest addition to the X-Slim line of ultrathin laptops also features the full variety of connectivity options. These include the HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) output and 802.11b / g / n Wireless LAN. Optional connectivity capabilities include Bluetooth and a WiMAX wireless module. The product also has four high-fidelity speakers with superior SRS Premium Sound capabilities and is outfitted with a D-Sub connector, two USB 2.0 ports, and one port for Mic, headphones, E-SATA and USB Combo.

Finally, the X600 pro is equipped with a 1.3-megapixel webcam and a card reader and runs Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium.

As previously mentioned, MSI hasn't disclosed the release date or the pricing details, but all the information currently available may be found on MSI's website.
