Modern corsets could improve posture and back issues

X-rays from the 1900s show that women wearing corsets would have their internal organs crushed and their rib cages destroyed because of the fashion statement they were making.

According to io9, Dr. Ludovic O’Followell documented the health risks of wearing a corset in his 1908 work Le Corset.

He would perform X-ray tests on women with and without their corsets on to document the damage that they were doing on their bodies.

O’Followell wasn't aiming on completely banning the corsets, but he did point out how the bones would develop if corsets were worn every day.

He believed that women should only wear them from time to time, even stressing some medical benefits of the fashion item.
