The first full trailer for the highly anticipated “X-Men: Days of Future Past” has been released and, however awesome you expected it to be, I must say it’s probably even more.

You can see it in full and in HD above.

A sequel to 2011’s “X-Men: First Class,” which effectively rebooted the X-Men franchise, winning over both critics and fans, “Days of Future Past” is based on a storyline that first appeared in “Uncanny X-Men” in 1981.

It includes jumps from present to future, with the obvious implication that if the X-Men from the future can prevent the X-Men from the past (their younger versions, that is) from taking a certain course of action and, in so doing, prevent a tragedy, no expense must be spared towards achieving that.

This is enough context to understand the trailer and especially why there are two versions of each mutant, one from “First Class” and the older one from the original “X-Men” movies.

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sir Ian McKellan, Sir Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, and Evan Peter, to name only the most easily recognizable actors.
