14 DAY TRIAL // By choosing Cher, Katie and Rebecca as her three finalists and rejecting Gamu and Annastasia Baker, Cheryl Cole landed herself in very hot and troubled waters. Annastasia is now claiming the show is “a fix.”
Speaking with The Sun, Annastasia, who was at her fifth audition for the show and the second year she made it through to the judges’ house, says Cheryl Cole had not justification for not letting her through.
When she thinks that 2 of the 3 finalists (namely Cher and Katie) broke down on their most recent performance – while Cole and will.i.am had nothing to complain about hers – Annastasia is downright furious.
Moreover, some of the contestants knew to which judge they would end up with, the former contestant says.
At the same time, she got the not-at-all-vague impression that the decisions about who goes and who stays had been made even before the actual performances.
If so, this means that the show is a fake since all the decisions are made beforehand – and clearly have nothing to do with talent, Annastasia says.
“Cheryl is two-faced and completely heartless. She couldn’t even say anything bad about my performances. She said I was so strong and I was ready for it. So why then tell me ‘No’? When she looked at me she had no emotion,” the former contestant says.
Not only was she axed when there was clearly no justification for that to happen (unlike last time she was on the show, when she too broke down), but she’s convinced some contestants are favored – only because they’re more marketable.
“I’ve been to Cheryl’s house before and messed up like Cher and Katie. But anybody who messed up in 2008 didn’t get through. It’s like they’ve made their decisions before you even get there,” Annastasia says for the same publication.
If Annastasia has harsh words for Cheryl, she has even harsher things to say about Cher and Katie, branding one a “chav” and the other a “liar.”
“She’s a complete chav. Her style is not long-lasting. They probably made a decision a long time ago. They just thought ‘this girl can make us money’,” Annastasia says of Lloyd, who had a very nasty throat infection on her last audition and was barely able to sing – yet was allowed through to the next stage.
As for Katie, she has worked in the music industry before coming on the show, albeit under another name. Still, it’s against the rules.
“Katie knows a lot of people in the industry. She could tell us all the information, where we were going, which judge we were getting. She knew everything. That makes you think: Is it a fix?” Annastasia asks.
