Cheryl Cole’s arrival in the US as judge on Simon Cowell’s X Factor generated lots of media, but she got even more press when she was dropped from the job after only 4 days. A new report suggests now that producers have offered the British television personality her job back.

As we also noted a while back, even if she’d only been on the show for 4 days, Cheryl had plans to ask to be paid the full salary she negotiated before accepting the offer, word in the press had it.

TMZ has learned that, because there’s no way they can get out of the contract, producers have decided to ask Cheryl back.

In other words, either they let her go because she “doesn’t work” and pay her full salary, or they let her do her thing for a season and pay her full salary.

“Our sources say when producers told Cheryl she wasn’t right for the US version of X Factor, they tried to put her on the UK version of the show. Cheryl’s managers wanted £2.5 million and producers thought it was too much, so the deal went south,” TMZ reports.

Because she didn’t get her old job as “compensation” for being fired from her new one, Cheryl is now adamant that she be paid $1.5 million for the 4 days she attended auditions – just as her contract stipulates.

“Our sources say Cheryl’s deal with the US version is ‘pay or play’ – meaning she gets paid whether she does the show or not. We’re told execs at FOX – and especially at Fremantle – don’t want to lose the money... so it’s better to have her on the show than not,” TMZ writes.

As of now, Cheryl has not gotten back with an answer and there’s nothing to go by in terms of whether she’ll accept the offer or not.

In the meantime, word in the British press has it that she’s suddenly become the hottest commodity on the market, with countless networks aiming to get her for their shows.
