VMworld 2010 Europe witnessed Wyse Technology’s announcement that Wyse PocketCloud has been expanded to support Chinese, French and German languages in addition to the already supported English and Japanese. The company also unveiled a public Beta of the PocketCloud Companion for Macs, a tool that will enable PocketCloud users anywhere to remotely control their Macs over WiFi/3G from their iOS device.

According to Wyse Technology, the company’s most recent developments are to double the potential audience for PocketCloud, while also delivering an improved user experience.

The remote desktop application has seen a great deal of attention in the Apple App Store, says Wyse, which notes that PocketCloud is ranked among the top 10 business applications since it was introduced at VMworld 2009.

The software has been downloaded by more than 150,000 customers, Wyse also says.

Acording the company, PocketCloud is VMWare Ready, as well as Certified for VMware View across the entire family of iOS devices, thanks to its seamless integration into a pre-existing VMware View environments.

"As the combination of mobility and cloud computing continue to expand the technology industry, it's exciting to bring the capabilities of Wyse PocketCloud to Chinese, French and German customers," said Daniel Barreto, GM, Mobile Cloud Business Unit at Wyse.

"As PocketCloud has become more popular, and simpler to deploy, we expect today's enhancements to expand the global footprint of our app," Barreto added.
