Now, somebody told me I shouldn't be thinking the way I did when I saw the Nekfit for the first time; why, might I ask? Because I am right? Basically, the Nekfit system looks like a cool gadget but it's that kind of coolness that is derived from a completely artificially-created need.

C'mon, all of a sudden, every wire that we have dangling around us becomes such a drama that it seems to ruin our lives and listening pleasure for good? Mmm, nope, I'd say. If you're THAT sensitive about having your headphone wires around your head, then go buy a friggin' Bluetooth system or stop listening to music on the go! It's all like riding a motorbike: when it rains - you get wet, and when it's warm and sunny you're wet as well because of your perspiration...

Coming back to the Nekfit and the title of this piece of news: the Nekfit is a shoulder-system that can accommodate your portable player and sports but a small headphones cable behind your neck. The Nekfit looks like some mangled sunglasses (in fact this is where the shape comes from) with a rubber strap that keeps your player in place at the back of your neck. I know that some people are just dying to show everyone how cool they are with their new player and how fancily they can be wearing these gadgets in the most hilarious places around them... but that's one thing that really put a broad smile on my face this morning.

Now, one final consideration on the Neckfit. It's not exactly cheap, at a nickel under $34 and the more expensive the player you put behind your neck, the more you look like the perfect prey for those people who live off small thefts. Even more, now they don't even have to scare you threatening with guns or knives: they can just pass by on rollerblades, carefully (yet effortlessly) grab your player (and your Nekfit) and then sweep off. Nice, isn't it?
