Just days after it unveiled a 17-inch Terra Mobile laptop, Wortmann AG has again broken the silence and taken the microphone in order to reveal that its Terra family of displays is also celebrating the arrival of new members, namely the 2220W and the 2420W, with screen sizes of 21.5 inches and 23.6 inches, respectively.

After the dismal period known as the years 2008 and 2009, IT companies started to put special emphasis on energy efficiency, even more so than they did prior to the economic recession.

This led to the appearance of certain standards that all IT players, Wortmann AG included, seek to meet when designing a new electronic.

Thus, the company did its best to optimize the energy use of its two new displays, to the point where they both have TCO 5.0 and EnergyStar 5.0 certifications.

This high efficiency rating is what allowed the 21.5-inch 2220W and the 23.6-inch 2420W to qualify as Greenline Plus releases.

As far as specifications go, one could say that the displays are both in the upper levels of the decency meter.

For one, they have full support for Full HD media playback, thanks to their native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

Also, they have a response time of 5ms and a dynamic contrast ratio of 80,000:1. Furthermore, they boast D-Sub and DVI connectors, for compatibility with a variety of PCs.

Finally, both new liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors have their own built-in speakers, so that one need not necessarily buy an extra set.

Wortmann AG priced the 2220W and the 2420W at 189 Euro and 209 Euro, respectively, and has backed them up with a three-year warranty. Finally, the newcomers both feature the same piano black finish meant to fit in any environment and add a measure of aesthetic value to any setup.
