Advanced Micro Devices may have unleashed its own mobile computing platform portfolio, but it seems that not all PC makers are eager, or ready, to make use of it. In fact, even in the wake of that announcement, and the hype recovery effects that it had upon AMD as a whole, companies are still adopting Intel's Pine Trail platform when making new systems. Wortmann AG, for instance, has unwrapped a new netbook based on it.

The newest entry-level mobile personal computer that Wortmann put together is known as Terra Mobile 1020Go and has already been set up for order on the company's official website. The electronic doesn't exactly bring anything new to the table, unlike the newest AMD netbooks, but it can, at least, boast of being capable of surviving for longer than most offers currently on the market.

To be more specific, the Terra Mobile 1020Go can last, on a single battery charge, for up to ten hours. This is significant, considering the relatively decent price it boasts and the fact that it is quite light (1.2kg or 1.3kg, depending on configuration). What consumers will be able to take advantage of during those long hours is an Intel Atom CPU with a clock speed of 1.66GHz, 1GB of RAM, the GMA 3150 integrated graphics and an HDD with 160GB of storage space. The laptop also comes with all the 'usual' connectivity and I/O options.

To be more specific, Wortmann AG's entry-level laptop features a 1.3-megapixel webcam, optional 3G, 10/100 LAN, 802.11 b/g WiFi and a multi-card reader. As for the operating system, customers can select between Windows 7 Starter and Windows 7 Professional.

The starting price of the netbook is of 329 Euro, if a standard battery and Windows 7 Starter are chosen. The price can escalate to 479 Euro if Windows 7 Professional and a better battery are preferred.
