Team 17, the company behind the Worms franchise, has just announced the release of Worms 2: Armageddon “Battle Pack” for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The new content pack is expected to be available in the App Store this week.

Launched on the PlayStation Network and App Store in September 2010, Worms 2: Armageddon has improved the franchise by bringing 1080p HD graphics.

With the release of the new “Battle Pack” things are about to get improved even more, as players will have access to a wide range of new weapons.

The Worms 2: Armageddon “Battle Pack” is a downloadable content pack, thus it requires the original Worms 2: Armageddon.

The add-on pack contains new weapons and utilities, a new single-player campaign, tons of crazy new customization features, new trophies and awards, as well as an all-new game mode amongst other upgrades to the original smash hit.

Other key features of the new content pack include: 30 new single-player Deathmatches, a new “Warzone” theme and game-style, a “Forts Pro” game-style and a cluster (grenade) of new weapons and utilities, including termites, ferrets and worship statues, 10 new Forts and all new customization items.

The Worms 2: Armageddon “Battle Pack” is expected to be released worldwide on the App Store this week for $1.99.

Even though the developer of the game issued an official press release stating that the game will be downloadable starting November 16th, the content pack is not yet live on the App Store.
