14 DAY TRIAL // 42-year-old Elaine Davidson is the most pierced woman in the world, boasting about 7,000 piercings, rings and studs all over her body. The other day, she also became a wife, after tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in Edinburgh.
The blushing bride wore a white dress, complete with flowers in her hair and striking yellow and green paint on her face, which made it almost impossible to see, what with the piercings as well.
Her husband, NineMSN reports, has zero piercings and zero tattoos, and says that it’s not Elaine’s body art that first attracted him to her, but her gorgeous personality.
Aside from the crowd of passersby who gathered to see the unlikely bride, the wedding party also included two bridesmaids dressed in traditional pink, reports in the British media inform.
“Brazilian Elaine Davidson, who sports nearly 7,000 piercings on her body and face, married Douglas Watson in the Scottish capital Edinburgh yesterday,” the aforementioned media outlet reports.
Many of said piercings are “internal,” while 192 are on her face. While some may have deemed the bride’s look a bit out of the ordinary, the groom said she couldn’t have been more beautiful.
“Elaine looks astonishing. People see the piercings but I see the amazing personality underneath — we have known each other a long time,” Mr. Watson told reporters after the ceremony.
Since he’s been with her for the past 15 years and has been living with her for some time, one can safely assume he knows what he’s talking about.
Elaine Davidson first made it into the Guinness Book of World Records in 2000, when she had just 462 piercings, and she’s managed to hold on to her record ever since.
She said in following interviews that she didn’t like getting pierced but that she did it “for her art.” She also revealed that she never took any of the rings and studs out, not even at night and estimated that they must weigh about 3kg.
