German fisherman Michael Eisele has reeled in a record-breaking cod, the largest to ever be recorded.

According to HuffPost, The International Game Fishing Association features a world record on the biggest cod at 98 pounds (44.5 kg).

The fish caught by Eisele weighs a whopping 103 pounds (47 kg) but it's not officially a winner, the catch has to be certified by the IGFA first.

The fisherman spent 30 minutes just getting the cod on his boat. He reeled it in while he was on a trip in Norway.

"I saw two red dots on the sonar-screen and it looked like a big one. [...] It took me more than half an hour to get the fish up. When we saw the fish my knees was starting shaking. It was so big," Eisele says.
