Blizzard Entertainment has posted another article detailing an overhauled region from the upcoming expansion to its massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft, titled Warlords of Draenor.

This time around, it's time for a cruise across Nagrand, a beautiful and lush zone from the game's first expansion, The Burning Crusade. If back then Nagrand was part of Outland, the shattered remains of Draenor, this time around we go back in time, back to when Nagrand used to serve as home to the Warsong clan, led by the infamous Grommash Hellscream.

Senior Game Designer Eric Maloof and Associate Game Designer Kurt Sparkuhl have decided to reveal some new information regarding the overhauled Nagrand and an area preview for the upcoming Warlords of Draenor.

"I think players will find that the Nagrand of Draenor isn't really all that different in spirit from the Nagrand of Outland. There are some obvious physical differences—for example, the floating islands aren't there anymore—but you'll easily be able to see where those floating islands came from."

"We very much wanted to respect what people really enjoyed about their experience in Nagrand in The Burning Crusade and capture that, while still providing a twist to what you'll experience there," Maloof says in the post on Battle.net.

One of the defining features of Nagrand is the number of character-focused stories that players encountered there, and the developers are keen on maintaining what sets the area apart intact, with plenty of new stories to explore and familiar faces to meet, as well as brand new content and even a new faction.

Gamers will even have the opportunity to return to the Throne of Elements, in order to unravel the mystery behind the disturbance that caused all the elementals on the plateau to become unstable.

The New Old Nagrand will feel the most familiar to returning players, as Nagrand was one of the areas least affected by the world breaking apart.

The area will, of course, feature a lot of new points of interest, and many things will not be there anymore, such as Halaa and Garadar, which were created after Draenor became Outland.

The release date of the upcoming Warlords of Draenor expansion, along with its cinematic, will be unveiled by Blizzard on August 14, in a special event that will be streamed for players all around the world to see.

Until then, have a look at the screenshots below and see whether the revised Outland managed to capture the original's feel.
